1. Information stored only on your device

The information below is kept on your device, in storage that only this app can access. It is not sent anywhere, including to Appl.GongBang.

This information is kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

If you have turned on your device’s backup (Google account backup on Android, iCloud backup on iOS), the operating system may include this information in your own backup. That backup is between the operating system and your account; Appl.GongBang has no access to it.

2. The camera and photos

• The camera preview is used to read price-tag text in real time and is not saved to a file.
• When you press the shutter, the app takes one photo, crops the area in the middle of the screen and reads the text. Text recognition happens on the device (Google ML Kit on-device recognition); the photo is not sent to Appl.GongBang or Google.
• The photo and the copies used for recognition are deleted as soon as recognition is finished. Photos are not saved to your gallery and are not kept in the calculation history. The recognised text is used only to fill in the fields, and you can correct it.

3. Information sent off the device

3-1. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The only ad is a rewarded ad for refilling coins. It plays only when you choose ‘watch ad’ yourself, and no ad interrupts you while you use the app.

To load and show ads, Google may process information such as the device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device type, operating system version and whether the ad was watched.

• iOS: On first launch, the app shows the system ‘Allow tracking’ prompt. If you allow it, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is passed to Google and ads may be matched to your interests. If you do not, every feature of the app works the same, and the IDFA is not passed on.
• Android: The device’s advertising ID is passed to Google and may be used for personalised ads. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in the device settings.

3-2. Usage statistics for text recognition (Google ML Kit)

Text recognition happens on the device, but ML Kit may send Google usage statistics to improve the feature. These do not include the photo or the recognised text. Examples: device model and operating system version, app name and version, processing time and error information for the recognition feature.

3-3. Information passed on in the course of communication

When the communication above takes place, information such as the device’s IP address may reach each service provider. This is inherent to internet communication; Appl.GongBang does not separately collect or keep it.

4. Third-party services

The services below carry out the processing in section 3. Each provider’s own privacy policy also applies. No other usage-statistics tool is used.

5. Device permissions

If you do not grant a permission, everything except that feature keeps working. Without the camera, you can still type in the price and calculate. You can withdraw a permission at any time in the operating system settings.

6. Age

This app compares the prices of alcoholic drinks and is not intended for anyone under 19. Appl.GongBang does not ask for or verify users’ ages, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Retention and deletion

• Information on the device: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app, at which point it is erased from the device.
• Photos: deleted as soon as text recognition is finished.
• Advertising and usage statistics: not kept by Appl.GongBang; handled under Google’s retention policies.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

Because the app’s data is on your device, anything you delete is gone immediately.

• One result: open it from the value log (가성비 로그) and tap the trash icon
• All results: the ⋮ menu at the top right of the value log → delete whole list
• Personalised ads: on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, the Advertising ID menu in the device settings
• Everything: uninstall the app

Appl.GongBang holds no personal information about users, so there is nothing to access or correct. Please send questions about this policy to the address in section 10.

9. Security measures

• Not gathering personal information on a server is the first measure. Information that is never collected cannot leak.
• Data on the device is kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot access.
• Photos stay on the device only as long as recognition needs them, and are then deleted.
